Regulatory Efforts

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency implements most of the federal laws that regulate emissions from gas drilling; however, each state has one or more regulatory agencies that are charged with implementation. States have the ability adopt their own standards, but they must be at least as protective as the federal standards.
